Policies

We want to ensure that Bechtel is a home for all our residents. So, here's some ground rules to make sure we're being kind and courteous to our peers:

Each suite comes up with their own rules and preferences. Typically, these pertain to cleanliness, noise, and guests.

There are several rules we have for communal kitchen use, and they essentially all fall under the honor code.

• Clean up after yourself: do your dishes (right after you're done cooking, not later), wipe the tables, and clean spills.
• Take care of the equipment: pans, pots, etc. They're for everyone to use.
• If an ingredient of food item is labeled, do not take or use it. Furthermore, if you're storing anything in the fridge or cabinet spaces, just be mindful that it does not rot.

We have a lovely custodial staff at Bechtel that clean these kitchens, but it should not be their job to clean up your mess!

For the lounge spaces, our general policy is to put away any games or items you use. This includes board games, consoles, using the TV, records for the record player, outdoor games, and even furniture. Leave these spaces better than you found them!
